Parameter loading procedure for 04PC

SUMMARY

The following procedure applies to the Fanuc 04PC Control. It is a good idea to make a backup file of the Machine Parameters on disk in the event of a control problem which may require reloading the Machine Parameters. It provides step by step instructions for uploading parameters using the RS-232 CNC port. You must have a DNC cable connected to the port on the 04PC Control. Note: In the following explanation this means it is a button on the control panel. If it is like this it is a soft key under the CRT Screen.


PROCEDURE

1.
 How to go to parameter page
 
•
 Press mmc/cnc key to select cnc
 
•
 Press alarm key while holding the function key
 
•
 Press parameter soft key for CNC, MMC, TURRET (file 1)
 
•
 After completing the first download press Diagnostic soft key for PMC (file 2)

 How to upload parameters
 
•
 Make sure the mode switch is set to EDIT
 
•
 Press the Right Arrow > soft key until the word PUNCH appears above on of the soft keys

 Go to the computer you want to upload the parameters to and pick "DNC DATA TRANSFER"(not 04PC/2000PA SMART DNC) from the main menu of Amada's software. If you are using some other software for DNC please refer to the instruction manual for that software.

 Next, pick "UPLOAD FROM AMADAN 04PC". Enter a file name to store the parameters in and press Enter twice. At this point the computer should prompt you to begin uploading your program (parameters).
   
NOTE: You will need to make 2 files before the procedure is complete. Be sure to name the files so you will be able to distinguish between them. The first file will contain the CNC, MMC, and TURRET Parameters and the second file will contain the PMC Parameters.

 Go back to the 04PC and type "P-9999" followed by the "PUNCH"soft key. At this time there should be a blinking "punch" in the lower right corner while the parameters are uploading. It will take several minutes to upload the parameters. If you have a problem or error, please check your Port Configuration and compare it to your PC configuration to make sure they match.

 After the first batch of parameters are loaded, repeat step 1 and 2 using the diagnostic soft key instead of parameter soft key.
