Pulsar / Altair4063 Alarm (RF Power Supply Alarm)
1. Check Cooling Water temperature (must be above 60° F). Factory setting 80°F. 2. Check Laser Gas Bottle, Regulator & hoses for leaks.3. Try a tested bottle of Laser Gas Mix ( preferably one used ½ way and kept safe for this purpose )
More Details:
The 4063 alarm (RF Power Supply Alarm) is triggered by higher than normal voltages ( >4300V ) in the RF power supply. These voltages reach their maximum values during full power commands (ie. during calibration, piercing, or when actually cutting @ 1500W).
To check these voltages you need to monitor diagnostic #909 while the laser is at full power (ie. during calibration, piercing, or when actually cutting @ 1500W). Typical voltages are 4000 vdc to 4200 vdc. As the voltages climb higher the 4063 alarms will become more and more frequent. Continuing to run the laser at these higher voltages is like running your car engine close to red-line. Amada does not recommend it. If the 3 steps above do not lower these voltages call Amada for resolution.
