User Macro loading procedure for Laser Systems

SUMMARY

The following list will take you to the procedure to load Macro Programs. Please choose the Control type. It provides step by step instructions for reloading Macro programs. Please go to the following site to Download Macro Programs.

Fanuc 6M Control

Fanuc 04PLA Control

 

The following procedure applies to the Fanuc 6M Control. It provides step by step instructions for changing parameters. For instructions on loading parameters please go to Loading Parameters

Note 1: If you do not have user macro tapes or disks, you can download them from our Macro site.

Note 2: In the following explanation bold italic text means it is a push button on the control panel and underlined bold italic text means it is a key switch or toggle switch.

Note: In the following explanation bold is for an action, this means it is a button on the control panel. If it is like this it is a key or toggle switch.

PROCEDURE - 6M

1.
With the power ON, turn the door interlock key, on the back of the Control, to OFF.
 

•

This will allow you to open the door without tripping the Main breaker.
2.
Open the front door on the Control and turn the Parameter Switch toEnable.
 

•

The switch is located on the Master PC Board in the lower left corner.
 

•

Alarm 000 will be displayed on the CRT screen.
   

•

This is just to let you know that the Parameter Protect switch isOFF.
3.
Select MDI on the mode switch and turn the Edit Protect key OFF.
 

•

You must be in MDI mode to change any parameters.
4.
Press the Parameter button on the Control.
 

•

This will bring up the parameter page.
5.
Press the letter "N" then "318" followed by the "INPUT" button.
 

•

This will take the cursor directly to parameter 318 so you can edit this parameter.
 

•

You can also use the "PAGE" down button to go to the page that parameter 318 is on and then use the "CURSOR" down button to go to 318.
6.
Write down the current value before you change the parameter in case you have problems. It should be set to 10100110.
7.
Change the parameter by pressing the letter "P" then "00100110", followed by the "INPUT" button.
 

•

Confirm the data has changed to the new value.
8.
After you have finished changing the parameter, return the parameterswitch to Disable.
 

•

You will need to press RESET to clear the alarm. If the alarm does not clear, confirm the parameter switch is set to Disable and then power down and back up.
9.
You should now be ready to download the Macro Program(s) either by Paper Tape or DNC.
 

•

Check the setting page to be sure you are set up for the right mode.
10.
After loading all macro tapes, repeat steps 2~5.
11. With the cursor under 318, change the parameter back to the original setting you wrote down in step 6. The new setting will protect the Program numbers 9000 and above.
 

•

Use the same procedure as step 7.
   

•

"P" "10100110" "INPUT"
 

•

Follow the procedure in step 8 to protect the parameters from being accidentally changed.
12.
Test the machine to make sure the new settings are effective and accurate.

Note: In the following explanation bold is for a button on the Control, this means it is a soft key under the CRT screen. If it is like this it is a key or toggle switch.

PROCEDURE - 04PLA

1.
Select "MDI" on the mode switch and turn the Edit Protect key OFF.
 

•

You must be in "MDI" mode to change any parameters.
2.
Press and hold the "FUNC" button and then press the "SET" button.
 

•

The function button acts like a shift key.
 

•

This will take you to the setting data page.
3.
Press the "PAGE DOWN" button on the Control.
 

•

This will bring up the parameter enable/disable page.
4.
Press the letter "P" then "1" followed by the "INPUT" button.
 

•

This will take you to the Alarm Page.
 

•

This also enables parameter editing capabilities.
5.
Press the "PARAM"eter soft key under the CRT.
 

•

This will take you to the parameter page.
6.
Press the letter "N" then "318" followed by the "INPUT" button.
 

•

This will bring the cursor directly under parameter 318.
7.
Write down the current value before you change the parameter in case you have problems. It should be set to 10100110.
8.
Change the parameter by pressing the letter "P" then "00100110", followed by the "INPUT" button.
 

•

Confirm the data has changed to the new value.
9.
After you have finished changing the parameter, return to the parameter enable/disable page
 

•

Follow step 2 and 3.
10.
Press the letter "P" then "0" followed by the "INPUT" button.
 

•

This will protect the parameters from accidentally being changed.
 

•

You will need to press "RESET" to clear the alarm. If the alarm does not clear, confirm the parameter page is set to Disable and then power down and back up.
11.
You should now be ready to download the Macro Program(s) either by Paper Tape or DNC.
 

•

Check the setting page to be sure you are set up for the right mode.
12.
After loading all macro tapes, repeat steps 2~6.
13.
With the cursor under 318, change the parameter back to the original setting you wrote down in step 7. The new setting will protect the Program numbers 9000 and above.
 

•

Use the same procedure as step 8.
   

•

"P" "10100110" "INPUT"
 

•

Follow the procedure in step 9 and 10 to disable parameters and complete the procedure.
14.
Test the machine to make sure the new settings are effective and accurate.
