2.
When PRM No. 15242, 15243, or 236 are changed, a Power Off Alarm is displayed. Shut off N/C power once and turn on N/C power again in 4 or 5 seconds. |
3.
Remove the maintenance panel on the oscillator for checking the discharge tube. Keep the door interlock OFF. |
4.
Start the oscillator (H/V on). If there is a discharge start switch, turn it on after LRDY appears. |
5.
Make sure that the discharge in the tubes remains on for at least 30 minutes once discharge has started. If discharge stops during 30 minutes, lower PRM No. 15242, 15243, or 236 (depending on control) by increments of 10 units ( 1 TORR ) until requirements pass. Once requirements pass, PRM No. 15242, 15243, or 236 should be set 2 or 3 TORR less than parameter at which it passed (Example: passed at 760, set PRM 15242, 15243, or 236 to 730 or 740). |

Test complete. Return parameters changed in step No. 1 to their original values. |

FANUC LASER LEAK TEST
1.
Change PARAMETER #235 to 10. (Probably set to 100: Setting to 10 sets base pressure to 1.0 TORR). |
a.
Go to SETTINGS PAGE. |
b.
Page down until PWE (Parameter Write Enable). |
c.
Go to MDI. |
d.
Enter "P, 1, INPUT". |
e.
You will receive a "100 ALARM" telling you that you are able to change parameters. |
f.
Go to PARAMETER #235, enter "P, 10, INPUT". |
g.
Return to SETTINGS PAGE, to PWE. |
h.
Enter "P, 0, INPUT". |
i.
Reset ALARM. |
2.
Start the laser. (This will cause the laser to attempt to pump down to 1.0 TORR to start up). |
3.
Monitor DIAGNOSTIC #860, which indicates laser pressure in 1/10th of a TORR. |
4.
Wait until DIAGNOSTIC #860 is less than 20 (2.0 TORR), then shut off N/C main power source.( Use transformer main breaker). |
NOTE: IF IT TAKES MORE THAN 10 MINUTES TO PUMP DOWN TO BASE PRESSURE (DESIGNATED BY PARAMETER #235), YOU WILL RECEIVE ALARM #680, IN WHICH CASE, EITHER A PROBLEM EXISTS WITH THE VACUUM PUMP, OR A LEAK IS PRESENT. |
5.
While main power to the laser and N/C control is off, turn the laser keyswitch to "OFF". (Leave "OFF" until procedure is complete). |
6.
Turn laser and N/C control power on. |
7.
Return to DIAGNOSTIC #860 and note the pressure reading. Wait 15 minutes, then note the pressure reading again. If the reading has increased by more than 22 units (2.2 TORR ) then a leak is present in the resonator. |
8.
If no leak is present, return PARAMETER #235 to 100 and continue operation. |
