HS-95 Wire Break Alarm Sensitivity Adjustment Procedure

HS-95 Wire Break Alarm: More than likely a sensitivity adjustment, or the wire is really broken.

1.
Open up HS95 box and locate the main circuit board.
2.
Measure the voltage between test point 5 & test point 6 (ground).
3.
Disconnect the HS3 cable.
4.
Turn the Brake Level (VR 8 ) CCW until the "CABLE" led on the front of the box goes off.
5.
Measure the voltage between test point 5 & test point 6 (ground) V1.
6.
Connect the HS3 Cable.
7.
Turn the Brake Level (VR 8 ) CW until the "CABLE" led on the front of the box goes on.
8.
Measure the voltage between test point 5 & test point 6 (ground) Again V2.
9.
Calculate the average voltage (V1+V2) /2 = V3.
10.
Adjust the Brake Level (VR 8 ) until test points 5 & 6 = the voltage calculated in step 9 (V3).
11.
Test for proper operation.

HS-95 SENSOR CALIBRATION

Using a sheet of 0.060" cold roll set the material in the Clamps, against the X and Y Locator Pins. In MANUAL Mode, move the Cutting Head over the Material. In EDIT Mode and on the PROGRAM Text Screen, call up Program O8001. This is done by Keying in 8001 and pressing the O SRH Soft Key. This is the Program for Sensor Calibration.

To run the HS-95 in inch, PARAMETER # 15534 needs to be set to 590.

Go to MEMORY Mode. Press the Z SENSOR CANCEL Button so the light is off, to enable the sensor. In manual mode move the head down to about one inch from the material. Press the START Button on the Control. The head will slowly move down until the Nozzle touches the Material and then will move up to 0.2mm above the material. The program will stop. At this point adjust the ORIGIN pot on the HS-95 box for 8.9v. Press the START BUTTON to continue the program. The head will now move to 2.98mm above the material. Adjust the GAIN pot to -8.9v. Press the START BUTTON again to continue the program. The head will move to 1.5mm above the material. Adjust the LINEAR pot to 0.0v. Run the program one more time to confirm the settings.

After the initial setup, the HS-95 calibration procedure only needs to run if the cable, sensor or box are changed.
